The short version
- Call Screen is for adults (18+) with an Android phone, for personal use.
- It’s free with ads. VIP and one-time purchases are sold through Google Play, and you see the price before you pay.
- Subscriptions renew until you cancel them in Google Play. Cancel before a free trial ends and you pay nothing.
- Your photos and videos stay yours. Our looks and sounds are licensed to you for use in the app.
- Some phones limit what the app can do, and internet calls such as WhatsApp use their own screens.
1. Who we are
Moonlanes is the trade name of:
Full company details: legal notice
2. Who can use the app
Call Screen is made for adults. By using it, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. The app is for your personal, non-commercial use on Android phones that you own or control.
3. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use Call Screen under these terms and Google Play’s terms. The app is licensed to you, not sold. We keep all rights we don’t expressly give you.
You may not:
- copy, sell, rent, lend or redistribute the app or its content, except through the sharing features the app provides;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or change the app, except where the law allows it;
- get around locks, ad unlocks, payment checks or other limits in the app;
- use the app in a way that breaks the law or harms other people.
4. Acceptable use
- Only use photos, videos, names and sounds that you have the right to use.
- When you share a look or a video that shows another person, make sure they are happy with it.
- Don’t use the app or shared links to harass, impersonate, spam or deceive anyone, or to spread illegal or hateful content.
- Don’t interfere with the app, our servers or our partners’ services, and don’t try to reach data that isn’t yours.
- You decide which calls the call blocker turns away. Emergency numbers are never blocked.
5. Your content
Photos, videos, sounds, names and text that you add to the app (“your content”) stay yours. They stay on your phone, we don’t receive them, and we claim no rights in them. You are responsible for having the right to use your content.
Looks you make can be shared as links, which carry the look’s parts and never your photos, or exported as videos. What you share, and where, is your decision and your responsibility.
6. Our content
The app, its design, and the looks, effects, buttons, frames, stickers, ringtones and other sounds we provide (“our content”) belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. The names and logos of our apps are ours too.
You may use our content inside the app: as your call screen, ringtone, wallpaper or widget, for example. You may also share videos you export from the app, including our looks and sounds in them, for personal, non-commercial purposes such as social media posts and messages. You may not extract, sell or redistribute our content by itself.
Open-source software and fonts in the app come with their own licences, listed in Settings → About → Licenses and credits.
7. The free version and ads
Call Screen is free to download and use, with ads. Some looks, sounds and parts unlock when you choose to watch one or more short ads; others need VIP. What an item needs, including how many ads, is shown on it before you use it.
Items you unlock by watching ads stay unlocked on that phone, but they can be lost if you uninstall the app, clear its data or use Delete my data. Purchases are different: they come back with Restore purchases.
Ads come from third parties through AppLovin MAX. We don’t control their content and aren’t responsible for the products or services advertised. Ads never appear on a call screen. Your ad and privacy choices are explained in the privacy policy.
8. VIP and other purchases
What we sell
VIP subscriptions (for example weekly or yearly), Lifetime VIP (a one-time purchase) and Remove ads (a one-time purchase). The offers, prices and what each one includes are shown in the app and in Google Play’s payment sheet before you pay, in your currency and including taxes where they apply. Offers can differ between countries and change over time.
Paying
Purchases are made through Google Play and charged to the payment method in your Google account. Google Play’s terms and payment policies apply. We never see your payment details.
Subscriptions and renewal
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (a week or a year, for example) until you cancel it. You are charged at the start of each new period, at the price shown when you subscribed. If the price changes, Google Play tells you in advance and, where the law or Google Play requires it, asks for your agreement.
Free trials and introductory prices
Some plans start with a free trial or an introductory price, if Google Play says you are eligible. Before you start, you see how long the trial or offer lasts, when the first payment is due and the price after it. If you cancel before a free trial ends, you pay nothing. If you don’t, the subscription starts and you are charged the price shown. An introductory price lasts for the period stated, and then the regular price applies.
Cancelling
Cancel at any time in Google Play: open the Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Call Screen → Cancel subscription. In the app, Me → Settings → VIP → Manage in Google Play takes you there. VIP then stays on until the end of the period you have paid for. Uninstalling the app doesn’t cancel a subscription. See also Google’s help on cancelling.
One-time purchases
Lifetime VIP and Remove ads are paid once. “Lifetime” means for as long as we offer Call Screen and its content, on phones signed in to the same Google account. Remove ads turns off the ads we show and unlocks every look, sound and part that isn’t VIP.
Restoring purchases
Purchases belong to your Google account. On a new phone, or after reinstalling, use Me → Settings → VIP → Restore purchases.
Refunds
Refunds are handled through Google Play under Google Play’s refund policies. You can also ask us: write to support@moonlanes.com with your order number (it starts with GPA.). This doesn’t limit your legal rights, including the right of withdrawal below.
Where the law of the country you live in gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase, you can do it within 14 days of your first payment: in the app (Me → Settings → VIP → Cancel or withdraw) or by writing to support@moonlanes.com with your Google Play order number (model form at the end of these terms). VIP or the item you bought then stops, and we refund the full payment through Google Play.
9. Changes to the app
We update the app to fix problems, keep it working with new Android versions, and add or change looks and features. Looks and sounds in our catalogue can change or be removed over time; looks you have already downloaded and use keep working where possible.
If we make a change that significantly reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you in advance. Where the law gives you the right, you can then end your subscription and get a refund for the time you haven’t used.
10. How the app works with your phone
- Android 11 and newer: Call Screen shows your looks as your Caller ID & spam app. While it holds that role, its call labels and blocking replace your phone app’s spam filter.
- Android 8 to 10, or on newer phones if you choose Full mode: Call Screen works as your phone app. You can switch back to another phone app at any time in Android settings.
- Phone brands: some manufacturers, depending on the model and software version, limit apps that show screens over other apps or run in the background. The app shows you how to allow it, but we can’t guarantee it works on every phone or after every system update. If a look can’t appear, your phone’s normal call screen or a notification is shown instead, so you can still answer.
- Internet calls: WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram and other internet calls use their own call screens. Call Screen works with regular phone calls.
- Emergency calls: always make sure you can reach emergency services. The call blocker never blocks emergency numbers. If anything seems wrong with your calls, switch your default phone app back in Android settings.
- Flashing light: flashing never goes faster than three flashes a second, and Settings → Appearance lets you make it gentler or turn it off. Flashing light can still affect some people with photosensitive epilepsy; if that applies to you, keep flashing effects off.
- Voices: name ringtones and the caller-name announcer use your phone’s own voices, so how they sound depends on your phone.
11. What we can’t promise
We work hard to make Call Screen reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we don’t promise that it will work without interruptions or errors, on every phone, carrier or Android version, or that it will always show your look or play your sound.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law, including your rights if the app or a purchase isn’t as described.
12. Liability
We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these terms or by our negligence. We don’t limit our liability where the law doesn’t allow it, for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for damage we cause on purpose or through gross negligence.
Otherwise, and as far as the law allows:
- we are not liable for loss or damage that wasn’t foreseeable, for missed calls, for data you could have backed up, or for business losses, because the app is for personal use;
- our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before your claim, or EUR 50 if that is more.
13. Ending these terms
You can stop using Call Screen at any time: cancel any subscription in Google Play, then uninstall the app.
We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, for example by getting around payments. Where it is reasonable, we will warn you first. If we stop offering the app, we will tell you in advance where we can, and refund subscription time you have paid for but can’t use.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the country where Moonlanes is registered (see the legal notice); this never takes away the protection the law of the country where you live gives you as a consumer. If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts where Moonlanes is registered, or in the courts where you live.
Please contact us first: most problems are solved by email. If we can’t settle a complaint, you can also turn to a consumer protection authority or out-of-court dispute body in your country.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the app or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new date. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app, and it takes effect 30 days later unless it is needed sooner for legal or security reasons. If you don’t agree, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription.
16. Other things
- If a part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a company that takes over the app, without reducing your rights.
- If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- These terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version applies where the law allows.
